Each year, as the industry ramps up for the Summer "Blockbuster" movies, they show all these previews during the 1st superhero or expected blockbuster movie. This year, I think "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" kicked it off, and I saw previews for the following movies:
1. White House Down - stars Jamie Foxx & Channing Tatum. I'm not totally sure what this is about, but, based on the title and the previews, if its anything like the movie that was just released, "Olympus Has Fallen," I'm already questioning Hollywood. Really, this close together, deja vu again? Oh well, I guess maybe they were thinking (as they often do, which is why we end up w/ entirely too many sequels), "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
2. Hangover 3 - I didn't notice Phil in the previews, perhaps he got smart and bowed out this time around since he didn't have a really huge part in the previous 2. I'm agreeing w/ him though (even if that's not the case)...SERIOUSLY?? I honestly wasn't that much of a fan of part 2, but, I can truly see that part 3, is a joke. The previews mention a conclusion to the story, but, I don't recall a cliffhanger in part 2. Enough said.
3. R.E.D. 2 - Super, duper excited about this one. This continues the 1st R.E.D. (Retired, Extremely Dangerous), w/ most of the original crew; John Malkovich, Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, and Mary Louise-Parker. Looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined as well. When I saw her on the screen, I thought about her getting added to the "Ocean's" films, and those just kept getting better. I was a true fan of the 1st, can't wait for this one!!
4. The Wolverine - We get to dive deeper in to the world of X-Men's Wolverine! As a fan of the cartoon, and all the movies, I can't see this one being anything but good!
5. Star Trek Into Darkness - Looks like even more action for the new generation of Enterprise passengers. Lots of action, and special effects...can't wait!!
There are a few others coming as well, like After Earth w/ Will Smith & son, Jaden Smith, World War Z w/ Brad Pitt, Fast and Furious 6 (Letty's back!!), and Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise. Oh yeah, and can't forget Iron Man 3!! Yup, looks like a pretty good summer for movies (but, I'm seriously questioning Hangover 3 lol).
